Mr. Kenyon was appointed Interim CEO in June 2018 following more than five years as Chairman of the Board. He was first elected to the Board in 2008.

Mr. Kenyon is a Corporate Director with more than 40 years of experience in the mining industry. He is a well recognized and successful mining entrepreneur having founded three resource companies which were all subsequently acquired by senior mining companies at significant premiums.

At Detour Gold, Mr. Kenyon played a key oversight role in the exploration and development phase of its flagship Detour Lake gold asset, leading to over C$2.0 billion in financing for the construction and ramp up of Detour Lake, with gold production having commenced in early 2013.

In 2010, Mr. Kenyon was appointed a Director of African Barrick Gold (now Acacia Mining), which operated four gold mines in Tanzania with production exceeding 700,000 ounces annually. He played a key role in directing the successful turnaround of the company after a failed public sale process. He is now the Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Independent Committee.

During his entrepreneurial career, Mr. Kenyon founded Cumberland Resources in 1979 which discovered the Meadowbank gold deposit in Nunavut, Canada, and advanced the project through feasibility, permitting and commencement of construction. Mr. Kenyon chaired the negotiations leading to Cumberland’s acquisition by Agnico Eagle in 2007 at a 29 per cent premium.

He co-founded and became President and CEO of Canico Resource in 2002, where he led the acquisition, feasibility, permitting and development of the world-class open pit Onca Puma nickel laterite deposit in Brazil. The company was acquired by CVRD (now Vale) in 2005 at a 42 per cent premium.

Mr. Kenyon also founded Sutton Resources in 1983 and served as President and CEO. His team pioneered exploration and development in Tanzania culminating in the feasibility, permitting, financing and construction of the underground Bulyanhulu gold mine. The company was acquired by Barrick Gold in 1999 at an 89 per cent premium.

Mr. Kenyon was the 2005 recipient of ‘Developer of the Year Award’ from the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada in recognition for excellence in mining development.

Mr. Kenyon holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geology from the University of Alberta.

Mr. Bourchier is a mining engineer with over 28 years of international industry experience. He joined Detour Gold in January 2018 as Chief Operating Officer. From 2012 to 2017, Mr. Bourchier was Chief Operating Officer of Nevsun Resources where he provided operational and strategic leadership including both the successful development of the copper and zinc expansion projects at the Bisha open pit mine and the accretive corporate acquisition and integration of the world class Timok project in Serbia. Prior senior roles include Vice President Business Development and Technical Services of Silver Wheaton (now Wheaton Precious Metals) and Vice President Operations and Business Development of Intrepid Mines. He held positions of increasing responsibility with Placer Dome (subsequently Barrick Gold) including Manager roles at the Porgera and Misima open pit gold mines. Mr. Bourchier holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Applied Science and Engineering from the University of Toronto and is a licensed professional engineer.

Mr. Mavor has over 20 years of finance experience in the mining industry. Mr. Mavor was appointed Chief Financial Officer in February 2014 and previously served as Vice President Finance from February 2012. Prior to joining Detour Gold, Mr. Mavor served as Vice President and Treasurer for Barrick Gold for five years, where he had global responsibility for all treasury activities and public market financings, which included the management of the Company’s liquidity and its banking, lending and trading relationships. With Barrick Gold, he progressed from the positions of Operations Controller, Director Treasury Operations to Vice President of Investor Relations before his appointment to Vice President and Treasurer. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in electrical engineering from Queen’s University.

Ms. Galloway is a lawyer with over 20 years of corporate legal experience in the mining industry. She joined Detour Gold in June 2010 as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Prior to joining Detour Gold, Ms. Galloway was Vice President General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of FNX Mining. She also served as General Counsel for Dynatec Corporation and held a number of legal positions, including Associate General Counsel and Corporate Secretary with Noranda Inc. / Falconbridge Limited (now Xstrata). Ms. Galloway started her career at Blake, Cassels and Graydon after receiving a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in economics and political science from the University of Waterloo and an LL.B. from the University of Toronto.

Mr. Anwyll is a mining engineer with over 25 years of international experience in operations start-up, construction and project management of open pit and underground mines. Mr. Anwyll was appointed Senior Vice President, Technical Services in December 2014. He joined Detour Gold in September 2011 in the position of Director of Operations and Mine General Manager. Prior to joining Detour Gold, Mr. Anwyll was General Manager Operations at the Gold Ridge mine for Allied Gold Mining Plc, where he successfully led the re-start of mine operation. He held progressively more senior roles with Barrick Gold and Placer Dome (which was acquired in 2006 by Barrick Gold), including Mine Manager at the Porgera gold mine in Papua New Guinea. For Placer Dome, he held senior roles at the South Deep mine in South Africa, Dome and Campbell mines in Ontario. Mr. Anwyll holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree of engineering from McGill University, and is a licensed professional engineer in Ontario.

Mr. Ekmark was appointed Vice President and Mine General Manager of Detour Gold in August 2018.

Mr. Ekmark is a mining executive with over 20 years of operational and mining experience. He has spent over two-thirds of his career working in large open pit operations, in both operational and corporate leadership capacities. He is a highly successful leader who brings to Detour Gold a combination of strong technical expertise, focus on employee-centric mine safety and operational optimization, and extensive site management.  A common theme throughout his career has been the strong and lasting culture transition to a highly engaged workforce resulting in top-tier safety and operational results.  

Mr. Ekmark served as CEO and Chairman of OKD in the Czech Republic where he oversaw the operation of four coal mines with over 12,000 employees. Prior to OKD, Mr. Ekmark served as the Founder and Principal of EMMORA, a risk-based management consulting firm providing services to heavy industry with an emphasis on mining; and as COO of AMG Mining of the Advanced Metallurgical Group, a global critical materials company producing highly engineered specialty metals and mineral products. Additionally, Mr. Ekmark has held numerous management roles with NORAMCO Engineering, Placer Dome, Cleveland-Cliffs, and The De Beers Group of Companies. At De Beers, Mr. Ekmark served as General Manager of the Jwaneng diamond mine in Africa (a ~360,000 tonne per day operation).

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from University of Minnesota, a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from the University of Alaska, and completed post graduate studies in Systems Science/Business Administration from Portland State University.

Ms. Gaborit has over 20 years of investor relations and corporate communications in the mining industry. Ms. Gaborit was appointed Vice President Investor Relations in January 2017. She joined Detour Gold in late 2006 as Director Investor Relations. Prior to joining Detour Gold, Ms. Gaborit provided strategic investor relations and corporate communications services for a number of junior mining companies. Prior roles included Vice President Investor Relations and Corporate Secretary for High River Gold Mines and Manager Investor Relations for Rio Narcea Gold Mines. Ms. Gaborit started her career in the mineral exploration industry for Aur Resources Inc., Cambior Inc., and Romarco Minerals Inc. She holds a Bachelor of Science in geology (Hons.) and is on the National Board of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute.

Mr. Wallin is an environmental engineer with 25 years of experience in the global mining industry. Mr. Wallin joined Detour Gold in October 2015 and was appointed Vice President Environment, Health and Safety in May 2016. Prior to joining Detour Gold, Mr. Wallin held the position of Director Safety, Health, Environment and Community for Yamana Gold and Vice President Environment and Sustainable Development for Osisko Mining. He held Director level positions with Barrick Gold and IAMGOLD. He also worked at DeBeers Canada, Cambior and Placer Dome. During his tenure at Placer Dome, he was responsible for managing environmental issues at the former Detour Lake mine in the early 1990s. Mr. Wallin holds a Master’s degree in geological engineering from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in environmental engineering and a Bachelor of Science in microbiology.

Mr. Heredia is a finance professional with over 10 years of progressive experience in the mining sector. Mr. Heredia joined Detour Gold in late 2011 as Manager Financial Reporting and was appointed to Controller in late 2013. Prior to joining Detour Gold, Mr. Heredia worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Toronto and New York where he gained valuable experience with initial public offerings and secondary listings on Canadian and International exchanges, reverse take-overs acquisitions, Canadian securities filings, internal controls and financial reporting. Mr. Heredia is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.
