Detour Gold is expected to start construction on site in late 2010, subject to permitting and support from local Aboriginal Communities. During the construction phase 2011/2012, the Company will employ over 1,000 people. During the operation of the mine, the employment level will be approximately 500 people. The Detour Lake Project is expected to have a significant impact on the economy of Northern Ontario. With gold production expected to start in early 2013, Detour Lake is expected to be among the largest gold operations in North America.
