Detour Gold Corporation is a Canadian gold exploration and development company. Our primary focus is to advance the Detour Lake project towards development and production. Construction of the planned 60,000 tpd open pit operation is scheduled to start in early 2009. Detour Gold is presently looking to fill the following positions:

Vice President, Mining

Successful candidate will be a key member of senior management. Responsible for the management of all aspects of the development of the project into an open pit mine, including mining development, selection of equipment, supervision of mining and equipment maintenance operations. Must have +15 years of work experience in large-scale open pit mining operations with strong development, process engineering and operational skills.

Senior Metallurgist

Successful candidate will be responsible for plant metallurgy and process design, and oversee design process for feasibility study, including being part of the EPCM project. Requiring a bachelor's degree in metallurgical (or related) engineering and between 5-10 years of work experience, preferably at processing facilities with gravity and CIL. Having experience in construction is a plus. Looking for a well organized candidate with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

Senior Mine Engineer

Successful candidate will be responsible for mine design, mine planning and oversee the design process for feasibility study, including being part of the EPCM project. Once in operation, responsibilities include mine planning and production, forecast evaluations, annual budgeting, and production performance measurement. Requiring +5 years of experience in progressive mine engineering positions, preferably at open pit operations. Looking for strong project management skills.

Senior Mine Geologist

Successful candidate will be responsible for mine geology and ore reserves. Ability to work with all levels of operations including engineering, operations, and front line supervisors to assist in preparing and implementing effective and efficient production plans. Requiring +5 years of experience as an open pit mine geologist with expertise in grade control for gold mining. Having strong computer skills in AutoCAD, Datamine, and other mining related software.
