Detour Gold has a 100% interest in the Detour Lake mine, a large-scale open pit mine in northeastern Ontario, a region with a long mining history, experienced labour force, good infrastructure and a government that recognizes the value of the mining sector.

The Detour Lake mine is one of the largest gold producing mines in Canada, with an expected gold production of 550,000 to 600,000 ounces in 2017. Gold production started in February 2013 and commercial production was declared in September 2013. Detour Lake contains an open pit mineral reserve of 16.4 million ounces of gold (530 Mt grading 0.97 g/t) using a cut-off grade of 0.5 g/t.

Detour Gold continues to evaluate a number of growth opportunities on its large prospective property. Exploration work continues in the Lower Detour area where the Company has encountered high grade gold intersections at Zone 58N. This major east-west structural break is located approximately 6 kilometres south of the Detour Lake mine.
