Individual EA Contingency Power Supply (Additional 10 MW Diesel Generation) (Category C)

Status: Approval received in March 2012.

Background:

Detour Gold Corporation initiated a study under the Environmental Assessment Act to install an additional 10 MW of diesel-fired generation at the Detour Lake site, to provide power to support the construction of the Detour Lake Project as a contingency. The 115kV transmission line to the site was energized in October 2011.
