On November 4, 2011,  the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) posted the Detour Lake Gold Mine Comprehensive Study Report (CSR) for a final public comment period. On December 22, 2011, the Minister of the Environment approved the CSR.

The Minister has determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects with the implementation of the mitigation measures outlined in the CSR and has therefore referred the project back to the responsible authorities, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Natural Resources Canada, for the issuance of permits.

The CSR, approval statement and more information on this project are available on the CEAA's website. Click here to view.
